DURHAM ROAD PLAY AREA AND FIELD

An updated tree survey was undertaken in May 2022. Please see below.  Suggested actions are currently been costed by arboriculturists.

A tree survey was undertaken to assess all trees on the area in 2017. All suggested actions were carried out by a licenced arboriculturist. The report is attached below:

MOBILE LIBRARY TIMES – posted on 8 April 2017

Wilpshire is visited by Lancashire Mobile Library every three weeks. The current stopping points and approximate times are listed below. If you wish to use the service it would be best to contact the mobile library contact centre on 03001236703 and ask for a call-back from ML8 Whalley Mobile Library.

LUNCHEON CLUB – this is a non profit making scheme which takes place once a month on a Thursday in the Methodist Church, Ribchester Road, Wilpshire at 12.30 onwards for approximately 2 hours.Cost is £3.50 with quality food from local butcher Beeches. Volunteers are welcome to help if you are interested in either attending or help out please contact Right at Home on 01254 658899. The parish council made a donation of £100 to the luncheon club to help with the cost of renting the room.

Little Green Bus – this is a vital transport service in the Ribble Valley and surrounding areas and includes Wilpshire. It delivers community transport services to the elderly, isolated or vunerable people. Their Mission is to promote social inclusion and wellbeing by providing a safe, accessible, demand responsive and door to door network of transport services to residents of the Ribble Valley and surrounding areas. Durham Road Play Area: The area consists of a small play area with a slide, swings, springy mobile and springy see-saw. The other part of the play area is a large grassed area with a goal post. The parish council decided to add a wooden trail in the field area in 2016 which has proved popular with the younger children The Parish council was given a parish grant of £3000.00 from Ribble Valley Borough Council towards the cost. An extension to the wooden trail was  added in 2017.

Salesbury Memorial Hall – activities include – Guitar Group, Metafit, Kettlercise, Ladies badminton, Zumba, Senor Badminton (18+), St Peter’s Salesbury Mother’s Union, Salesbury under 5’s (mums and toddlers), Pilates, Pat Eaket’s school of Dance and Drama, Ribble Creative Stitchers.
