The Parish Council is the tier of local government closest to the people, as such one of its key roles is representing the Parish in formal consultations in many matters relating to both Government and other aspects of village life. The Parish Council obtains its powers through a wide range of statutes which both allow and regulate its activities. The main activities undertaken by Wilpshire Parish Council include:-

Planning
The Parish Council is consulted by the local planning authority on all developments within the Wilpshire boundary and as such sends its observations on them.

Consultation
The Parish Council is consulted on many local and national government issues and provides a local perspective in responses to consultation requests.

When reporting a faulty street light please provide as many details as possible, for example if it is outside a particular property and the street light number.
